Blogger Moves, Poll Results, and Last.fm
A couple of announcements:
1. I’ve finally getting settled in after moving, and getting over my sore muscles (a unfortunate side effect of lifting heavy objects), not to mention enjoying the new house. Thanks to everyone for the prayers and encouragement. I really do appreciate it!
2. “The Randomest Poll Ever” ended a while back, but I never got around to posting the results. I asked “This? Or That?”, and in the end 31 (66%) of voters selected “This”. There’s deep significance in that, don’t you think?
3. Also, in the last week I setup a Last.fm group for The Free Christian Music Blog. It’s got a full 4 members so far, and we need you to join us on there. If we can get at least 10 members Last.fm will enable weekly charts - very cool. The more the merrier! Check it out here.
Delicious, Nutrious, Free, Cookie
So this a bit off topic, but since I know you love free stuff, and I needed a break from the typical, I think this acceptable. If you don’t like free food, just skip this post. If you do, read on.
Kashi (the “seven whole grains on a mission” people) have an awesome promotion going right now. You can go on their website, and request a 100% free cookie. They’ll mail a chocolate chip cookie to you, and then you eat the cookie. It’s that easy. You can even track your cookie as it’s being delivered. As to the quality, I’ll say this:
mine was delicious.
Speedlinking: House of Heroes, The Devil Wears Prada,
1. Indie Vision Music recently covered ANOTHER sampler with The Devil Wears Prada, only this time the song it “HTML Rulez D00D”. The name is almost as cool as the song.
2. “In The Valley of The Dying Son”, the new video from House of Heroes, is the coolest video I’ve seen in a long time. I know I just posted it, but go see it if you haven’t already.
3. Cindy Morgan posted a demo of her song “How Do You Live (Turn Up the Music)” a while back, and it’s still available.
And that’s all I have. If you’ve written a post about free music, send me the link and you could be featured in Speedlinking! (You know, that came out with a bit more Bob Barker then I intended. :))
Myspace Downloads Update
As some of you have noticed, the downloads from myspace disappeared with the appearance of the new player. According to this blog by Tom, they will all be back soon, and some already are:
5) Buy and Download links. We are gradually populating all the buy and download links. If a band offers the track as a free download then you will be able to do that. If they don’t, then it’s only for streaming. The same goes for buying. The links are not all there yet, but they’re gradually being populated with the right choice.
So if couldn’t download anything off of myspace because of the change, you can now head back over there and do so.

Speedlinking: Brave Saint Saturn, Lincon Brewster, Addison Road
Speedlinking once again (Friday, because James found a sweet sampler he couldn’t wait to post about.
) Anyway, speedlinking is something I started last week, basically, to save myself time and to diversify somewhat. You can see last week’s introduction here. That said, let’s get started:
1. Brave Saint Saturn has given Indie Vision Music permission to give their song “Starling” away as a free download. Brave Saint Saturn is the electronic side project of several members of Five Iron Frenzy.
2. I was emailed about this 100 Places to Find Free Christian Music Online list this week, and would have had to share it even if TFCMB wasn’t number 21 on the list. It’s extremely complete, and worth perusing.
3. Indie Vision Music has also got two brand new downloads from Gasoline Heart and Discover America. Looks good!
4. Indie Vision Music also has got a full CD download from Amohalko. It’s a full CD called Spark, and looks sweet. Three downloads in one post - yes, Indie Vision Music is amazing.
5. This week’s video is Joy Electric - “What Electricity Made”. See it here.
6. iTicket’s has a free download this week of Lincoln Brewster’s new song “Today Is the Day”.
7. Total Axxess has a free download of Addison Road’s “Sticking With You”. It looks like it’s only going to be available for a limited time, so grab a copy fast.
7. And last but definitely not least, this week’s archived download is actually a sampler from HearItFirst.com. Check the original post for details.
Speedlinking Thursday: An Introduction
Today’s I’m going to be trying something a bit differently. Instead of writing up individual free-music-sources, I’m going to speedlink them - that is, link either to the download itself or to another blogger who already wrote up the download.
Plus, I’m going to throw in something cool from the archives and maybe a music video or two. Let me know what you think in the comments. Ready, set, speedlink!
1. FreeCCM.com has new free music from Decyfer Down, P.O.D., Caedmon’s Call, and Todd Agnew.
2. Indie Vision Music recently found a sweet sampler featuring War Of Ages, Means, For Today, Kingston Falls, Wrench In The Works, and more. That’s some sick hardcore.
3. “Perservence of the Saints” is a classic music video by the O.C. Supertones. Old school, and awesome.
4. Disciple’s “Back Again” is this week’s blast from the past - great headbanger.
Last Chance To Get The Massive FUEL Sampler
Last chance to get the FUEL sampler that Tooth and Nail put out. It is set to be removed after today, so hurry. If you don’t have it already, quickly head over to get 28 free songs.

Own A Piece of Music History!
Thanks to RadioU-TVU, you may now own a piece of Christian music history. The history in question is part of a fried Snickers bar that TobyMac tried, and didn’t like. Kind of gross, really. The full story is on the eBay auction.
New Free Mono Vs. Stereo?
Just saw this on FreeMVS.com: “It’s Coming… The New Mono Vs. Stereo Coming Soon”. Evidently, they are redesigning FreeMVS. What does that mean? More music, hopefully. I’ll keep an eye on the site and let you know when there’s a change.
For The Geeks…
I think some of you may enjoy this: Firefox 3 was released a couple of days ago. You can grab your copy here. I’ve got it, and it’s awesome. New design, better features, and, it’s way more secure. Check it out!
