Free P.O.D Download

Though it seems almost impossible to have missed getting this song, after having it featured on the homepage of RadioU, on FreeCCM.com, on Amazon.com, on RockHouseCafe.com, and more websites on top of that, I suppose someone new to The Free Christian Music Blog could have missed it, so this is for you, recent converts, who may have missed the download previously.

I’m getting way a head of myself though, the song is “Shine With Me”, the band, P.O.D..  You can get the song for free by viewing their new ecard, which is available on their website:

Free CD From Jeremy Horn

Jeremy HornFree music today from CCM newcomer Jeremy Horn.  He’s giving away his CD Atmosphere for free, to anyone who wants it.

To be able to download the CD, you need to enter your email, city, state, and zip code, and you’ll immediately be taken to a page where you can download either the entire album at once, or each song individually.

There is one song that Jeremy wasn’t able to include because of copyright issues, but that one song is available on iTunes for 99 cents, so really, you could get the entire CD for only 99¢.  Not a bad deal at all!

MASSIVE Amount of Free Live, Acoustic Mp3s

Free music today courtesy of Relevant Magazine, and specificially, their podcast.  They have approximately 60 (give or take) free songs, all of which were recorded live in their studios.  The majority are acoustic, but there are a few “normal” songs, specifically by Pigeon John and The Procussions.  I wasn’t sure what live, acoustic rap would sound like, but it’s really good.  As expected, artists like Sara Groves, Phil Wickham, Derek Webb, and Andrew Peterson sound as good unplugged as plugged in.

There are also quite a few new, indie artists on the site as well.  A couple to watch out for are Band Marino and No More Kings.  And if indie isn’t exactly your favorite thing in the world, there’s plenty of staples like Jars of Clay, Leeland, Dizmas, NEEDTOBREATHE, and David Crowder.  Just about something for everyone.

Music Updates

Both Soul-Audio and iTickets have new music this week, featuring some amazing new music.  Without further ado…

iTicket’s, once the premier Christian event website, now the premiere Christian event website AND a great source of free music, has two new songs this week by Philmont and Stephanie Smith.  For Philmont, you can grab a copy of the song “I Can’t Stand to Fall”, from the album Oh Snap.  It used to be availbale on the Gospel Music Channel website, and was one of hottest tracks I’ve featured in a while.

The other new song on iTicket’s is “Renew Me” by Stephanie Smith.  Since I haven’t heard the song yet, you’ll have to check it for yourself.

Edit:  Listening to “Renew Me” now, I have to say, this song is good.  Really good.  Krystal Meyers fans won’t want to miss this.

Also, as I said, Soul-Audio has added a ton of new music to their free downloads page.  They have new stuff from DecembeRadio, Bart Milliard, David Crowder Band, The Wrecking, Sarah MacIntosh, Mission Six, Brenton Brown, Jars of Clay, Tammy Trent, Amy Court, and after that 4 pages of earlier downloads.  The best part?  No membership is required.  You can just go, grab the songs you want, and enjoy them.

The First This Beautiful Republic Contest: Logo Design

This Beautiful Republic Perceptions

After many helpful suggestions, I’ve decided to take Matt’s idea and do a logo design contest for The Free Christian Music Blog. The winner will receive a copy of This Beautiful Republic’s new CD, Perceptions.

Quick disclaimer: I’ve never done a contest like this before, so this is going to be a learning experience. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, but in the event it doesn’t, well, I’ll figure it out then.

The official rules:

1. The contest is open to everyone, with the exception of myself and James, who will judge. (Unless you want to enter James, in which case I’ll judge myself.)

2. Entrants will have one (1) week to create an original logo for TFCMB, and email it to me at freechristianmusicblog@gmail.com. Please attach your design and include your name and email.

3. Entries will be judged by James and I, who will decide a winner and two runners up.

4. The winner will be announced in a post here, and then contacted via email for mailing information.

5.  All entries will become the property of The Free Christian Music Blog, and maybe used as a logo, banner, profile image, Facebook “Pieces of Flair” Flair, badges, business cards, promotional material, t-shirts, pens, coffee mugs and Christmas cards.  Keep in mind this list is not conclusive, and I may use it for something entirely different.

Design suggestions: I don’t really know. Have fun with it! The only thing is the design should be something I could put on the site, in the feed, and any social network profiles. I can’t wait to see what you come up with, so go ahead and get started.

This Beautiful Republic Contests Announced!

This Beautiful Republic PerceptionsRight now, I’m sitting next to a stack of four (4) copies of This Beautiful Republic’s new CD, Perceptions.  And soon, one of those CD’s could be yours.  That’s right, I’m giving away four copies of Perceptions to four lucky readers.

There is, however, a problem.  I can’t decide how to give them away.  Should I do a sweepstakes, have people enter fan art, or what?  I need some ideas.

Sooo, if you have an idea, please leave a comment with your suggestion, and hopefully, you may be the lucky winner.  :-)

Downhere: “My Last Amen” Free Download

Freshness today from a band known as Downhere.  “My Last Amen”, a song from Downhere’s upcoming CD, The End Is Beginning (or Ending is Beginning, I’m not sure the name, :) ), is today’s free download.  That’s right folks, you can get “My Last Amen” for free from JesusFreakHideout.com.  I think Downhere was doing a bit of experimenting stylisticly with this song, but, as usual, they pulled it off extremely well.

MegaPost of Free Songs

Hey everyone, this is James again. Sorry that I didn’t back up Matt while he was gone. By the time I knew he was gone I was too busy to do anything about it. So, to make up for it, I’m gonna hook you people up with several free songs.

First off, FuseTV is giving away Edison Glass’ song “Let Go” for free. I’m a big fan of Edison Glass and would be ecstatic about this if I didn’t already have the CD. Its highly recommended.

-Edison Glass on FuseTV.com-

Next, Number One Gun has put up a demo on their Myspace called “People.”  I think it might be a B-Side off of The North Pole Project, but I’m not sure.

-Number One Gun on Myspace-

Also, we have 2 free songs from the band Watashi Wa.  They were a band off of Tooth and Nail Records.  Unfortunately, they broke up.  Fortunately, the lead singer is still writing and making music with another band…

-Watashi Wa on PureVolume-

Finally we’ve got free music from the band Lakes.  If you listened to Watashi Wa and really liked it, chances are you will like Lakes, which is the new band of their lead singer, who happens to be an excellent writer.  Anyway, they have 3 excellent songs up for download on their Myspace page.

-Lakes on Myspace-

So there you go, 7 songs from 4 bands.  Hopefully that can make up for the hiatus.
