Free Music from Turn Off the Stars
Free music today from Turn Off the Stars. They have their song “Please” up for free download on their Purevolume. It’s from their self-titled CD on Credential Records. Pretty cool track.
New Superchick Song!
Superchick’s new album Rock What You Got is coming June 24, and to celebrate Superchick is giving away the first song “Alive”, on a special mini-site titled “Superchick Loves You”. Fitting huh? I’ve updated the Superchick Spotlight to include the new song.
In many ways this song is a lot like the free song Kutless released not long ago. Both songs are pretty short, and both are different from anything the band’s ever done. This song in particular has a lot more electronic sounds, and sounds like Superchick has updated their own sound some. It’s still a good song, just different. But I’ll let you decide for yourself…
Free Music from Pivitplex
Free music today from Pivitplex. They have their song “Under A Train” up for free download over at their Purevolume page. Evidently it’s a previously unreleased track, which is pretty cool. I honestly don’t know much about Pivitplex, so I’ll keep this short.
Free Music from Alli Rogers, Ever Stays Red, Hello Kelly, and More!
Today’s free music comes from a site called Soul-Audio. They have some awesome free songs on the site from some of up-and-coming-yet-under-the-radar names in Christian music. Including sweet songs by: Ever Stays Red. Alli Rogers. Hello Kelly (!). Sleeping At Last. And more.
My favorite song on the site Hello Kelly’s catchy “10 Good Reasons”, in case you missed my hint. It’s awesome. Quite similar musically to Eleventyseven, but unique enough to be interesting. IMHO.
It looks a little like Soul-Audio went through and picked some of the best songs from smaller artists and featured them. Not only that, but they also add music occasionally. The verdict: Go check it out, listen to the songs, and check back here for updates.
Updates from The Free Christian Music Blog Issue 1
This is your TFCMB news update. I’m Matt, and topping the headlines today is…
1. I’ve begun work on moving this blog from Blogger to a self-hosted Wordpress blog. I’m not ready to give a link yet, but I can hopefully do that soon. The new version of TFCMB will have a new look, and will make it easier to find the music you want.
2. The fifth and final video in the Destroying Illegal CD’s series is now on YouTube! This time, I used a BB gun and blasted a CD. It was a lot of fun.
You can view the new video as well as the previous installments over at the original post.
3. It’s come to my attention that Sphere of Hiphop, the biggest source of free Christian hiphop, needs money. If you’ve got some spare change, you can donate straight to the site, or by buying any of the CD’s on the Sphere homepage. Also, Josh posted some sweet info about Command Line Star Wars on the site recently. I’d highly recommend it. The link is here.
4. iTicket’s has updated their free music! This time, they’ve got a free download from the Daniel Doss Band. Check it out!
5. The train is coming! The Wedding’s new EP The Sound, The Steel comes out in 5 days. The Wedding is one of Christian rock’s best kept secrets, and if the new EP is as good as their last CD Polarity, it’s going to rock. I plan on buying my copy as soon as possible. If you’re a fan of Hawk Nelson, Relient K, or just Christian rock in general, you really need to check these guys out.
Mourning September "Running" Download
Free music today from Mourning September. Their song “Running” is a free mp3 download over at GarageBand. It’s an emo/alternative/rock song, and one of the best I’ve heard from Mourning September. According to the site, the song even won “Track Of Day” in October 2003. That’s pretty good for a band most people haven’t heard of.
Anyway, check Mourning September out. After all, it’s free!
Free Music from Sufjan Stevens
Today’s free music comes from a guy named Sufjan Stevens. Technically, he’s not a Christian artist, but he himself is, and some of his songs are biblically inspired. For that reason, I decided to feature him. Now, some facts about Sufjan. He plays ecclectic folk-electronic music. Most of his songs have very weird titles. For example, “They Are Night Zombies!! They Are Neighbors!! They Have Come Back from the Dead!! Ahhhh!”. Umm, yeah.
The mp3 download from Sufjan Stevens is a song called “Henney Buggy Band”. You can get free song on Last.fm, from Achoo! An Asthmatic Kitty Sampler. It’s a interesting song. Okay, very, very, interesting…
Free Praise and Worship Resources at ShareSong.org

Today’s free music is actually an entire website of praise and worship resources. ShareSong.org is a website that allows anyone to upload original or public domain mp3s, chords, sheets, and lyrics, so that they can be found and enjoyed by Christians everywhere. All of the items on the site are free, though I do recommend reading the User Agreement before downloading anything.
It looks like there are around 5000 songs listed. That’s a lot of music! Thankfully, there’s a nice little search box to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
Free Music From Fighting The Fall
Free music today from a band called Fighting The Fall. They’ve got two free songs on their Purevolume profile, “Last Wish For A Dying World” and “Letters To Abigail”.
Their music is indie-emo-rock, with the occasional post-hardcore screams, similar to Beloved or Emery’s older songs. I actually listened to these two songs for about an hour today, and can honestly say they are good. Sadly, the band broke up a few years ago…
Tradgedy Hits The Chapman Family
I just saw this on Jesusfreakhideout, and I thought it deserved mention. Steven Curtis Chapman’s daughter Maria was accidentally killed yesterday when she was hit by a car in the family driveway. You can read the full report here. Please keep the Chapman family in your prayers during this difficult time.
