Fuse.com Bringing out Kutless, Blessthefall, Relient K
Free songs from Fuse.tv, of all places. They have awesome songs from Kutless, Blessthefall, and Relient K. You don’t need to sign up for anything at all, just click to download. Now, I am pretty sure everyone probably knows who Kutless and Relient K are, but let me (or rather Wikipedia) introduce Blessthefall: Blessthefall on Wikipedia. Also, Jonezetta used to have a song featured (”Get Ready (Hot Machete)), but it’s since been removed. I am not sure how long any of the songs I mention above will be available, so do yourself a favor and get them now.
MercyMe, Connersvine, and Sara Groves at FreeCCM.com
FreeCCM.com has a brand new MercyMe song! It’s called “Goodbye Ordinary”, and it’s from their brand new album All That Is Within Me. You can read the lyrics to Goodbye Ordinary, and also, you can check out new music from Sara Groves (”Love is Still A Worthy Cause”) and Connersvine (”Live for Today”), both of which are also from new albums. Pretty sweet.
Nevertheless Downloads at Purevolume
Nevertheless has two songs available for download on their Purevolume page. One is from their debut album “Live Like We’re Alive” and the other is from their old EP, From the Inside Looking In. The song is called “Cries from the City”, and is really pretty cool.
The Rock Brigade
Another online sampler from Tooth & Nail, Solid State, and BEC. It has new songs from Anberlin, Haste the Day, KJ-52, Seventh Day Slumber, The Almost, The Send and more. You have to have a Hearitfirst account to access the downloads, but, in addition, if you have a account, they’ll send you a another free download once a week. Hearitfirst is actually pretty interesting. It’s a website that’s run by the whole Christian music industry, so they have tons of neat stuff from almost every artist you can hear on you average radio station.
Update: The sampler has sadly been removed. Thankfully, there’s plenty more music out there…
Basic Guide to RSS (Or how to not miss the next free download)
Something I discovered a few months ago was RSS feeds, or “Really Simple Syndication”. Basically, it is a way to find out as soon as a website (or blog) is updated, without clicking the “refresh” button on your browser every ten seconds. Since a picture is a thousand words, I am just going to show you how to do it using this blog (which should be the first one you add anyway ;). One other thing, this works best with Mozilla Firefox. It’s a free web browser that beats Internet Explorer hands down. It’s faster, safer, and has lots of cool add-ons you can get as well. If you check the sidebar, there’s a link to my reasons why you should get it. You can also get it there.

Begin by clicking the little orange button

Then, when the next screen comes up, click “subscribe now”

Then simply click “ok”

Now, just by clicking on the little bookmark-thingie, you can see if there are any new posts.
You’re done!
(That wasn’t too painful, was it?)
Free Gotee Music - Relient K, Family Force 5, Our Hearts Hero, John Reuben, Ayiesha Woods +
Gotee Records is one of my other favorite record label. They have created a website devoted to giving away free music from their biggest artists. The idea is that if they give away music from one group, then the person who downloads that song will download the other 2 or 3 (or 4 or 5) and get new fans.
Anyway, they have good songs from Ayiesha Woods, Family Force 5, John Reuben, Our Hearts Hero, Relient K, and Storyside B. So far there is only one song an artist, but they could add new songs when ever they want.
Unreleased Rich Mullins Song
-“Madeline’s Song” on Room of Marvels-
I am going to but the link at the top of this post this time, because there are only 750 copies of this rare Rich Mullins song to be released, so as soon as you read this, go and get a piece of history. This song was never released on CD, and the only other place I know where you can find it is a rare Rich Mullins live DVD.
Free Far-Less: A Toast to Bad Taste Download
When I checked my email this morning I found a email from Tooth & Nail informing me of Far-less’s new CD, “A Toast to Bad Taste” was coming out next week. At the bottom of the email it also said that I could get a free download of the title track for the new CD from AbsolutePunk.net. Being a fan since I heard “Scorched Earth Policy”, I tried it and it worked. Well worth the download.
Tooth & Nail Tour Digital Sampler - Free Music from Thousand Foot Krutch, Underoath, Anberlin
Tooth & Nail is one of my favorite record labels. And this is why: they understand the power of giving away music. If I took the time to add it up, I am sure I have found 4x as many T&N songs then all other labels combined. And have good stuff to give away too. They are the home to MxPx, Underoath, Anberlin, Emery, Spoken, and Thousand Foot Krutch, just to name a few. And this sampler has quite a few stand-out tracks from their best artists. Here’s the a few of the songs:
- Thousand Foot Krutch - Move
- Starflyer 59 - Good Sons
- Underoath - It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door
- Anberlin - Paperthin Hymn
- Jonezetta - Welcome Home (Demo)
- Emery - Studying Politics
- The Fold - The Title Track
- The Classic Crime - The Fight
- Sullivan - Ten Ways to Impress
- Watashi Wa - All That I Can’t Keep
- And more…
The only downside is you need a Purevolume account. It’s not really that big a deal. You think of a username, they give you a password. I have only ever gotten four emails from them. One for confirmation, one with my user name and password, one because I forgot my password… You get the picture. It’s worth it, okay!
Get it here, here and here, and enjoy.
NOTE: The offer expires June 1st. It doesn’t specify what year, but, just hurry.
Update: Sadly, the sampler has been removed. The good news is there is still tons of other free downloads on the blog.
